Peppa Pig

My kids have loved Peppa Pig for ages, in fact I don't think i met (or heard of) any kids that don't like it? Strange as that may seem but I can honestly say i haven't! What the hell does it have that other shows don't? My daughter especially liked the show although as she's gotten older she doesn't like to tell her friends she still watches it but I can tell you she does.

I know kids have amazing imaginations and the show is cleverly aimed at that but there are a few things that stand out, like why does everyone live on a hill? However according to it creators (Phil Davies, Neville Astley and Mark Baker) Peppa Pig's house is on top of a hill, because every frame is shot from a child's perspective - children will usually draw their house on its own, so i guess that explains why everyone lives on top of a hill and got nothing to do with flash floods...!!

Then you have poor old Miss Rabbit, my god how many jobs does she have? She is the bus driver, supermarket assistant, librarian, helicopter pilot, firefighter, ice cream seller, shoe shop assistant, nurse, car crusher, ticket seller, china shop worker, works on a moon shop, theme park ticket seller, train driver, recycling centre operator there are probably a number of others I've missed but you get the point, she's one very busy bunny and no doubt had to sign the waiver to opt out of the EU working time directive

It's also a little odd that some animals are still well animals, you have Peppa Pig, Richard Rabbit, Edmond Elephant, Suzy Sheep, Danny Dog and a whole host of others which are all 'human like' i.e. they talk, walk and do things we as humans do (OK maybe not everything they don't go down the local and smash 10 pints and grab a dirty kebab on the way home, well not in episodes I've seen). But there are others namely ducks, parrots, spiders etc. are all just well ducks, parrots, spiders etc.

Despite this and several other irregularities like Peppa and her brother George both being in the same class at school, all the animals being the same size (well apart from Daddy pigs belly... haha) and talking of Daddy Pig where are his parents? The show is great and the kids love it, even I can stomach watching it although maybe not endlessly as my 2 seem to want to at times.

I have bought them a number of Peppa Pig toys of the years and would definitely recommend a visit to Peppa Pig World in Paultons Park near Romsey, in Hampshire it's a cracking day out and the kids absolutely loved it.

Oh well I think I've rambled on for long enough, not even sure what my original point was now, maybe I just miss the kids or maybe I secretly want to go watch a couple hours of Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol and some other kids TV?

As usual if you like any of my ramblings, reviews or whatever you might describe my writing style? Do I actually have a style, could you class my posts as works or writtings? Hmmm, someone please drop me a line and let me know.

Please use one of the links around the site to help me get another beer to keep me semi sane

Neil is the name and writing reviews is my game, well OK maybe not my game but I do enjoy writting the odd one! An IT Consultant by trade, adventurer by heart and dad by accident (not really love you kids x x). I created this blog to share my experiences with various products/services, musings on code/tech stuff and sometimes I even throw in a bit of something else...
